The Hunchback Piper
The figure of Kokopelli, the hunchback flute player, has been found extensively around the American Southwest, painted, drawn or scratched on rocks dating back from 200 A.D. up to the 16th Century. The figure is the personification of a legend, representing a travelling salesman, a beneficient god, an individual and a fertility symbol.
In addition, Kokopelli is the name of an internet agent written by Neil Bowers. The agent and the images shown here were produced for the CS-Web project at Canon Research Centre Europe Ltd.
