You can tell the windspeed at a kite festival by observation of your surroundings:

Beaufort Scale

  1. Beer sales increase [ smoke rises vertically from the safety tent. - A ]
  2. Banners start to rustle, annoyingly.
  3. Carbon kites fly, poorly
  4. Fibreglass kites fly, poorly
  5. Ultralight kites break
  6. Novice buggiers get injured
  7. Lynn kite breaks free destroying property
  8. Cabanas collapse
  9. Swivel on spinsock seizes
  10. Sleeved Spectra snaps in the middle
  11. Gyrokite flies, poorly
  12. Beer sales increase

You owe the Kite oracle four Uberraschungseier to supply components for his home-made Anometer
